Project #154:
Validation of ISARIC / SUS / PHOSP data for COVID-related hospital admissions

Hospital admissions due to COVID-19 disease are recorded in multiple sources. This includes the hospital records themselves and specific audits of admissions in participating hospitals that collect more detailed information.

Having multiple ways of capturing the same information provides an opportunity to determine how accurate and reliable each source is, by comparing them with each other. For example, one source may have better capture of clinical characteristics like diabetes or heart disease, while another may offer more complete geographical coverage of relevant COVID-19 admissions.

In this study we plan to explore the relative strengths and weaknesses of each data source so that future researchers are better informed about how best to use them for research.
