Project #188:
Assessing the accuracy and completeness of death recording in the OpenSAFELY database compared to ONS death registrations in England
We aim to evaluate how accurate and complete death-related information is in primary care records compared to official death records from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) in England. OpenSAFELY is a secure platform that uses electronic health records from GP practices to support research, but death-related data in GP records may sometimes be incomplete or less accurate. By comparing this data with ONS death data, our study will help understand the reliability of GP death-data and help inform future research studies. The results will be shared in a short report.
